Highmark's 2024 plans make Medicare more affordable, easier to use - New York

Buffalo, N.Y. (October 1, 2023) — With the annual enrollment period less than two weeks away, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield has debuted their 2024 Medicare Advantage plans with options to meet the wide range of needs of consumers in Western New York.

Highmark BCBS 2024 Medicare Advantage options feature plans with $0 premiums, plans that give you money back every month, plans with leading medical benefits, and even a plan designed specifically for veterans

“Each year, we consider consumers’ needs as we design our Medicare portfolio,” said Dr. Michael Edbauer, president, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. “Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield continues to make investments designed to make Medicare coverage more affordable, more accessible and easier to use.”

Enhanced Benefits for 2024

Highmark BCBS Medicare Advantage plans continue to provide market leading medical benefits with multiple plans available that include $0 PCP, labs, and generic prescription drugs. As Medicare consumers place a higher priority on dental benefits, Highmark BCBS has prioritized making dental care more accessible across their footprint. “Shoppers will notice that our dental coverage has expanded, covering a wider range of preventive and comprehensive services in 2024,” said Edbauer.

Helping members understand and use their benefits

Edbauer said that Highmark BCBS designs its plans and benefits with the intention of members actually using them. “We know that members who use their benefits – such as wellness programs, health coaches, regular doctors’ visits and preventive care – have better health outcomes and fewer medical complications,” she said. “We want to support our members so they can be and stay healthy.”

Highmark BCBS offers several resources to support its members.
