Highmark announces new leadership additions in central Pennsylvania

PITTSBURGH (Jan. 8, 2020) — Highmark recently appointed Brian Rinker as the new market president for central and northeastern Pennsylvania regions. Highmark also announced that John Lufburrow will be vice president of Sales for those regions.

Rinker has been the senior vice president for Highmark in the Northeastern Pennsylvania region. He was appointed to this position in June of 2015 following the merger of Highmark and the former Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania (BCNEPA). In this role, Mr. Rinker is Highmark's senior leader in the NEPA market providing support for business performance, new business development and serves as the primary liaison with the NEPA Region Advisory Board, community stakeholders and other regional business partners. Rinker will now expand his leadership role to include the central Pennsylvania market and will focus on membership growth and building/maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.

John Lufburrow will assume the position of vice president of Sales for the central and northeastern region. He is responsible for all commercial sales and service in those regions. John's previous roles at Highmark included work in Care Alignment, Member Engagement and Producer Strategy.

"We are well positioned for growth in both of these markets in the coming years," said Rinker. "We have a number of key initiatives designed to bring value to our customers including our partnership with Penn State Health. It's really an exciting time."
